Kids in 360Life Church
Children are an important and valued part of the God’s family (Matthew 18:5-6) and we aim to reflect this at 360 Life Church. On Sundays the children stay with their families for the first 30 minutes of the main service so that the can participate in worshipping together. They then go out to their age specific groups, which is a chance for them to learn and interact while the adults listen to a more in-depth Bible teaching during the sermon.
We aim in the children’s groups on a Sunday to provide the children with a secure, safe, fun environment, where they feel included and valued as part of the church family. We aim to partner and support parents with what they are already building into their children’s lives through the rest of the week and through this, children will come to know Jesus for themselves.
On your first visit, the ‘Welcome Team’ who greeted you as you arrive will be pleased to direct you to the right group for your child. On a child’s first visit, parents will be asked to fill in a registration form so that we have the child’s basic details, any specific medical or dietary needs and anything additional that it would be useful to know about for your child.
We want to welcome all children and families. Please contact us if your child has extra or specific needs so that we can do all we can to meet their needs and make them feel welcome on their first visit.
The church operates a safeguarding children policy, and all children’s work volunteers and church leaders have been checked with the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly CRB). We also take up references for all new volunteers. Our volunteers and leaders also attend training on child protection. Our Safeguarding co-ordinator is Damian Wall.
We subscribe to the Churches Child Protection Advisory Service. More information regarding our commitment to Safeguarding can be found here and our Safeguarding policy is available upon request.
Outside of Sundays
For children 4-11 years we regularly have extra events at other times of the week. These can include events such as Messy Church, games and film nights. Children are also encouraged to attend inter-generational whole church activities with their families such as summer picnics, Maundy Thursday meal and many more.
The older children (8-11yrs) also have the chance to go to the weekend AOG iCamp North for a weekend each year.
All of our children’s workers are part of the church and volunteer on a rota basis. Karen Johnson is the Kid's Team Leader and oversees and works with all the Children’s teams. Children’s workers are encouraged to link into the AOG iKids local network which gives opportunity for training, networking and support, along with other training opportunities that come up such as with Urban Saints, Scripture Union and in-house.
