What Is 360Life Church All About?

In short, 360Life Church exists to help people follow Jesus.

In other words, we are here to be disciples of Christ ourselves and to make more disciples of Jesus. That means doing all that we can to facilitate people discovering Jesus for themselves and progressing on a life-long journey of discipleship.

Get Life

Jesus said, 'I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.' (John 10:10). A full life is a 360life.

Give Life

Jesus says in Mark 8:34-35, 'Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me and for the gospel will save it.' A 360life is a life wholly surrendered to the kingship of Jesus. It is a life marked by serving others.

Live Life

To live a 360life is to live wholeheartedly for God in every area of life, every day of the week.

Our Values - How We Do Things

Authentic Discipleship

What this means:

  • Intimacy with God.  A close, personal relationship with God must be the highest value in the life of every member of the church.  This means that priority is given personally and corporately to prayer, spiritual warfare, worship and the Bible, stimulating passion for God and His kingdom.
  • Bible-centred. We build our personal lives, and our life together as a church, on the Bible, determined to be doers of the Word and not hearers only.
  • Holiness.  Living a life that is pure in thought and action is a priority for all disciples of Jesus.
  • Wholeness – the fruit of the love of God in our lives is wholeness and healing.
  • Accountability.  Every believer is called to be accountable for his/her attitudes and actions.  Structures of accountability are built within the leadership team and within the church.
  • Giving.  We have generous hearts, giving freely.
  • Excellence in all we do honours God and inspires people.  We desire to function in ways that will attract people to respond positively to the Kingdom of God.
Gift-orientated Leadership

What this means:

  • All leadership is Servant-leadership.
  • The church is led by people with a gift of leadership who foster the common vision around which the church unites and who work to see God equip every person for ministry with their specific God-given gifts.
  • Every believer, man, woman or child, is called to be a witness and a minister – the arena for ministry being everyday life.  As a result, our witness must be relevant to our culture.
Empowerment by the Holy Spirit

What this means:

  • We value the operation of the Holy Spirit to empower and equip every believer for ministry[1] and for witness[2].
  • We actively seek and make room for the gifts of the Holy Spirit and expect miraculous answers to prayer.
  • We aim to be a “sending church” where the leadership releases people for service into and beyond the church.

[1]  By ministry we mean using our gifts, talents and abilities in service to other people (irrespective of whether they are church members yet) and serving others in the name of Jesus.

[2]  By witness we mean demonstrating, in words and in actions, to someone who is not yet a Christian, what it means to be a genuine Christian and how they too can become a Christian.

Healthy Relationships

What this means:

  • Everyone in the church is significant, regardless of the age, gender, race, disability or the family status of individuals.  Every member accepts the responsibilities that come from being part of a body, as well as the blessings.
  • We give priority to investing in relationships and friendships that express love and acceptance of each other, unity, care for one another and serving.  In so doing we function as church seven days a week and not just when we meet on Sundays.
  • We endeavour to spur one another on to love and good works, valuing and promoting each other’s growth towards maturity.
  • We value honest and open relationships, spiced with humour and laughter.

Our Priorities For This Year

Our mission is unchanged from year to year:

  • to proclaim the Gospel, calling and challenging people to follow Jesus in a radical way
  • to create and sustain a discipleship culture which sees fully-devoted disciples of Jesus reproducing themselves
  • to reach out, not simply to tell the Gospel but to demonstrate it and to bless the community
  • to be a worshipping church that is empowered by the Holy Spirit and characterised by healthy relationships and servant leadership
  • to experience and share the abundant life – the 360life – that Jesus gives.

Some specific priorities for 2018 are:

  • to deliver practical training that enables people to share their faith in an effective and natural way
  • to deliver mentoring and training that further develops the next generation of leaders
  • in concert with a group drawn from across the church, to review our discipleship-making culture and values
  • to further strengthen the prayer life of the church.
