Youth Weekend Away

Posted on: | Category:

Read on website

Our youth group will be going on a weekend away this year!

From Friday the 21st April until Sunday the 23rd April, the youth group will be staying at Savio House in Bollington, which has beautiful spots of nature surrounding it. The weekend will start at 4PM on the Friday and finish at 3PM on the Sunday. The weekend will cost £75 and will include great food and activities.

This should be a great opportunity for the youth to have fun, build relationships with each other and get to know Jesus more.

Please see Andy Eadie with a £10 deposit to confirm a place, or to ask for more details, and do be praying that God would really bless this weekend.

Community Groups & Events

Image

Elsewhere we explain the meaning of the 360Life logo, shown below.

A 360life is a life wholly surrendered to the kingship of Jesus. It is a life marked by serving others. Give Life.

Our community groups and events are invariably tagged with the 360Life logo since these groups exist as an expression of the intent of 360Life Church to serve the wider community of which it is a part.

An estimated one-fifth of the population (9 million people) are lonely. Charity research in the UK says that our culture leaves many completely isolated, in what the press is calling “the UK’s loneliness epidemic.”

In response to this, our Neighbourhood Chaplains team aim to help tackle loneliness through befriending. We offer a listening ear and practical help towards meeting our neighbours’ physical, emotional and spiritual needs.

Neighbourhood Chaplains began operating in the first half of 2022.

Help available includes “helping hands” for simple daily tasks which those in need may not be coping with. There is also an opportunity for regular phone calls or visits for those on their own who would like someone to chat to. Volunteers can also offer prayer and signposting to other helpful local agencies and events.

The stress and demands of modern living are taking their toll on our mental health and well-being.

A Kintsugi Hope Wellbeing Group is a safe and supportive space for people who feel or have felt overwhelmed, providing tools for self-management in a facilitated peer-mentoring style setting.

Well-being groups run for 12 weeks, each week looking at a different theme of mental or emotional health such as anxiety, disappointment, loss and resilience. Groups are free to attend.

The aim of these groups is to equip individuals with self-management tools at the same time as providing space to develop relationships with others.

Sessions include group and individual activities designed to help participants to accept themselves, to understand their value and worth, and grow towards a more resilient and hopeful future.

The next group starts on Sunday 29th January 2023.

The group meets for 12 sessions, 5-7pm, for 12 Sundays (but with a break on Easter Sunday).

On The First Visit

On your first visit, the Welcome Team who greet you as you arrive at the church will be pleased to direct you to the right group for each of your children.

On a child’s first visit, parents and carers are asked to fill in a registration form so we have basic information about the child, together with details of any specific medical or dietary needs and any other information that you wish us to know about your child.

Kids are an important and valued part of the God’s family (see Matthew 18: 5-6) and we aim to reflect this in 360Life Church.

In most Sunday services, the children stay with their families and carers for the first 30 minutes or so. That means they participate in worshipping together with the whole church. Then they go to age-specific groups elsewhere in the building. That’s their opportunity to learn and interact while the adults continue in the service.

The children’s groups on provide a secure, safe and fun environment, where children feel included and valued.

Our goal is to support parents and carers with what they are already building into their children’s lives in the rest of the week, so that their children will come to know Jesus for themselves.

Besides Sundays

Children 4-11 years are invited to occasional extra events that take place at other times of the week.

These include Messy Church, games evenings and film nights. Children are also encouraged to attend special church activities that involve the whole family and every age group, such as summer picnics.

Older children (8-11yrs) attend a weekend camp most years.

Safeguarding

The church has a formal Safeguarding Policy for the protection of children, young people and vulnerable adults. All kids’ volunteers and leaders are checked with the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly CRB).

Small Groups

Most of the church’s small groups meet on Wednesday or Thursday evenings in various homes across Stockport. A few groups meet during the daytime. Since every group is different, groups vary in how frequently they meet and in how group members choose to stay in touch with one other.

Groups are comprised of about 6 people.

The focus of the groups is on caring for one another.

Everyone who is part of the church family is placed in a group. We do our best to take account of personal preferences. Not everyone in every group attends their group meetings, but everyone has a small group of people looking out for them and offering encouragement and support. In this way, it could be said that the church pastors itself.

The Covid pandemic has demonstrated graphically how valuable small groups are. No wonder the Leadership Team are so keen to encourage everyone to be part of a small group!

How To Join A Group

In the first instance, please speak to a member of the Leadership Team.

Prayer Meetings

Most Tuesdays, 8pm to 9pm, at Cale Green.

Prayer is simply talking and listening to with God, expecting Him to answer us specifically.

  • Praise and thank the Lord before presenting your request to Him
  • Be specific and ask for what you need, but don't forget to listen to God too
  • Pray in Jesus’ name
  • Pray in faith
  • Obey God and do His will
  • Submit yourself to God and pray according to His will
  • Pray humbly
  • Remind God of His promises when praying.

PrayerShare

PrayerShare is a group of people within the church who are committed to praying for any needs, however big or small.

Prayer requests can be emailed to admin@360life.church

Prayer requests are sent out to a private WhatsApp group.

Please be assured that all prayer requests are treated with the utmost discretion and kept confidential within the PrayerShare group.

Giving To 360Life Church

360Life Church does not receive funds from external sources, except for very occasional (and modest) grants that are sometimes given to charities for very specific purposes. The life and ministry of the church is totally underpinned by the sacrificial and regular giving of church members and of others. And this is good and appropriate, since giving to God is a fundamental part of being a Jesus-follower.

This section of the website is designed to help you find convenient ways to give to 360Life Church, especially during the Coronavirus crisis. Please contact us if you need any assistance.

And God bless you as you give to Him.

The church is led by a Leadership Team comprised of three people.
