If you have listened to the sermon from last Sunday (16th September), you’ll know that God seemed to have a thing about almonds.
God caused Jeremiah to see an almond branch as a aide-memoire. Since the Hebrew word for “almond” sounded very similar to the word for “watch”, every time he subsequently saw a common almond, he would remember the message about God watching over his word to perform it.
God obviously didn’t want Jeremiah to forget what he was saying. Why does it matter to us too that God is watching over his word to perform it? How does God involve himself in your life and the life of his people to ensure that his word “performs” and produces the outcomes that God wants?
If you find this encouraging, why not post your thoughts to the church Facebook group?
